Dashboards good and bad

I'm a fan of executive dashboards as useful tools ... but I'm skeptical of Sam Adams' plan to use a dashboard approach for tracking "economic succes."

Too bad educators favor data-free analysis. Dashboards won't make much sense to them since to take data seriously means to change and improve.

BTW this comment only offered to encourage your blogging. One topic in particular needs serious attention, the Chalkboard Project. How could so much be invested in so little? And Dave Reinhard's lukewarm endorsement? Where are the people who understand how to analyze the causes for the massive failure of public schools? Why is the CP so impotent in analyzing the dysfunctional ps system?
